Because I'm starting to get old lady hands

Last month I tried using my mom's sewing machine to no avail. I've decided to invest in my own. Don't get me wrong, hand sewing is great, but my hands were starting to cramp up and I can't sew some big projects I have in mind of doing all by hand!
I'm thinking about investing in this bad boy, so I can get to doing some Frankenstein-like things to thrifted finds that I have hanging in my closet.

  1. How much is it? In my experience with my mom's newer machines you are better off finding a thifted sewing machine working or slightly broken and getting it fixed. It will work better and last longer. These new machines break down so quickly.

P.s. we need to have a sewing day!! (I yell a lot when I sew by the way and there is usually a rum and coke involved so I don't kill someone before I finish my project)

  2. It's 80$-something at Walmart (cringe) but...I still need to keep looking before I go and buy one.
